Chromotherapy - A Colorful Experience :: & good for our mind body & spirit
We have just introduced the Infrared Sauna at Wanderlux Beauty & Wellness, and of all the benefits of the sauna alone, aren’t enough, we have added the additional option to add Chromotherapy (color therapy) to each session. Chromotherapy is a non-invasive vibrational healing therapy. We don’t add this option just because it makes our sessions look beautiful, there is legit science behind the use of color to treat our bodies and our ailments dating way back to the Egyptian times. It all ties into our core beliefs at Wanderlux that we are more than just physical bodies and we need to take care of ourselves on every level, mind, body & spirit.
The human body is made up of vibrational energy, every cell of our body vibrates, and every cell has it’s optimal frequency. Our cells and organs respond to all different frequencies and vibrations around us including those of light and color. Sunlight and it’s colors hold so much energy and vibration that is beneficial for us which is why we feel so different in the summer than we do in our Michigan sun-deprived winter months. We also know there are harmful rays in the sun, so Chromotherapy is an option that allows us to receive the benefits of the those colors without the harmful side effects.
We’ve talked about the chakras before in previous blog posts and how each of your body’s energy centers has a corresponding color that it responds to. This is all along the same lines. Our bodies and our organs respond and heal when exposed to rays and vibrations of different colors and light. It is healing on a vibrational level. However, the light being absorbed into our skin and our eyes literally “lights up our brain” to effect different systems in our body including the nervous system, endocrine system and pituitary system. Different key hormones are released to create more balance to our systems, (melatonin is a key hormone that is effected by light and color)
Each Color holds a specific Vibration and is beneficial for different aspects of your body. Here is a brief overview of the different colors used in Chromotherapy and how they benefit us:
Red is believed to increase the pulse, raise blood pressure and increase the rate of breathing. Red would be applied to support circulatory and nervous functions.
Strong pink acts as a cleanser, strengthening veins and arteries.
Pink activates and eliminates impurities in the blood stream.
Orange is a mixture of red and yellow. Activates and eliminates localized fat. Assists with asthma and bronchitis
Strong yellow strengthens the body and activates internal tissues.
Yellow, the brightest color used in chromotherapy, has been used to purify the skin, help with indigestion, strengthen the nervous system, treat glandular diseases, hepatitis and lymphatic disorders and assist metabolism.
Green, a color associated with harmony, provides a neutral, positive calming effect.
Strong green provides anti-infectious, anti-septic and regenerative stimulation.
Strong blue lubricates joints, helps address stress, nervous tension and infections.
Blue promotes relaxation and calm. Blue exhibits tranquilizing qualities often used to relieve headaches and migraines, colds, stress, nervous tension, rheumatism, stomach pains, muscle cramps and liver disorders. Blue is thought to have a positive effect on all kinds of pain.
