Reiki Energy Therapy & FAQ

Reiki is a subtle energy therapy that works with the body's energetic system.  It is safe, effective & gentle and works to improve your overall well-being and promote a deep sense of relaxation.  Reiki, which is used all over the world in places including hospitals and hospices, aids in healing by helping people become energetically balanced physically, emotionally, mentally and spiritually.  This powerful wellness tool can help facilitate flow in the body & balance the chakra system when it is out of alignment (the body's energy system) and provide much needed space for you to heal & relax.  Since modern day living is happening at such a fast pace and we are a society of achievers, it can be easy to neglect some of these systems which throw us out of balance and make it more difficult to handle the stresses of our everyday lives.

Since we believe feeling beautiful is more than just skin deep, we are excited to offer a therapy that works on some of these "unseen" but important parts of ourselves. When our mind, body and spirit are properly nourished and aligned then we see beautiful harmony in our families, friends and communities.

-Increase the vibrational frequency on physical, mental emotional and spiritual levels

So, How does it work?

Reiki energy therapy works by utilizing the subtle energy flow from the hands of the practitioner, to influence the energy flow of the receiver.  Our bodies are made up of layers of vibrating energies and energetic systems. These systems have specifics functions that effect our bodies and psyches.  Even though these energies are unseen, they are no less important than our physical system and greatly influence how we show up in this life.

What will my session be like?

In your initial consultation, and every session your Reiki practitioner will go over and identify your goals for the session (or series of sessions).  These goals could be as specific as an ailment or emotion you are looking to relieve, or as broad as just wanting to experience more balance and well being in your life.  Your Reiki practitioner is trained and certified to help guide you on this journey, and assist you in discovering what your body may need.  Your session will be 60-90 minutes long, in a calm, private and relaxing atmosphere and you will be fully clothed on a treatment bed, or while sitting.   Sometimes crystals or stones are used to enhance or amplify the energy that is received due to their powerful and energetic vibrational properties.

What will I feel like during and after?

Everyone's experience with Reiki is completely unique.  Most clients just feel deeply relaxed and some may even fall asleep.  During your session you can expect to lay fully clothed on a reiki table where you’ll be covered by a soft blanket. Based on your specific wants and needs you may work with any of the following: positive affirmations, chakra activation, guided meditation, grounding, crystal healing, the healer's intuition, Higher Self, or a session can be completely silent to allow you to peacefully rest and recharge while the healing takes place.  You may feel a slight tingling, heat, or energy, or nothing at all.  The sensations or lack of are not a barometer of how effective the Reiki session is, it is just how your body senses energy.
