Glo2Facial vs. Hydrafacial: Why Glo2Facials Win
When it comes to skincare, you know we are big proponents of facials being a part of your skincare arsenal. In fact, we believe you should make facials a part of your regular routine because of the benefits related to overall self-care.
Here at Wanderlux, we’ve provided hundreds of facials to our clients and regularly experience them ourselves and we know nothing leaves your face feeling as fresh and glowing quite like a facial.
The deep cleansing, the rejuvenating facial massage, and custom treatments leave your inner and outer beauty shining like the sun in Spring! And who doesn’t want to exude such radiance, especially when it comes to your facial skincare routine?
So, if you’re into skincare as much as we are, or even if you’re not, you’ve probably heard or even tried a Hydrafacial or a Glo2Facial, which may have you asking, which one is better and why.
We consulted one of our dedicated Wanderlux Spa facial clients for her insight because we understand the value of hearing from someone besides ourselves. But before delving into specifics, let's first educate ourselves on the two types of facial treatments.
Understanding the Hydrafacial
Let's start by unraveling the Hydrafacial, a popular treatment in many spas and skincare clinics. As the name suggests, it involves a combination of hydration and exfoliation to rejuvenate the skin.
The process typically begins with cleansing to remove surface impurities, followed by gentle exfoliation using a serum infused with salicylic acid, glycolic acid, or other chemical exfoliants.
Next comes extraction, where a vacuum-like device is used to unclog pores and remove debris, blackheads, and whiteheads. Lovers of Hydrafacials covet the moment when the vacuuming is done and they can check the water to see all of the impurities that have been pulled from their skin. It’s a little bit, Ewww… and A lot fun!
The highlight of the Hydrafacial is the hydration step, where a hydrating serum infused with antioxidants, peptides, and hyaluronic acid is delivered deep into the skin using a vortex-like mechanism.
Exploring the Glo2Facial
On the other hand, Glo2Facial has been gaining traction as a sought-after skincare treatment, beloved by celebrities and skincare enthusiasts alike, us included. This facial is designed to provide an instant glow by combining various techniques, including exfoliation and oxygenation of the skin.
This process is called “Oxfoliation” and it refines and plumps the skin texture leaving the skin glowing, thus Glo2Facial.
Unlike Hydrafacial, which relies on chemical exfoliants, Glo2Facial plumps the skin by infusing it with oxygen.
According to an article published by Glossy, “Oxfoliation technology claims to calm the skin because it uses the Bohr Effect to conduct exfoliation instead of chemical or physical exfoliation.”
The Bohr Effect is a natural process that occurs “in the body and causes the skin’s internal oxygen levels to rise,” according to Lush Aesthetics.
Glo2Facial includes two steps after Oxfoliation which are a light ultrasound experience with microcurrent followed by lymphatic massage. Lovers of the Glo2Facial say they leave glowing and with a natural blush.
Reason Two: Immediate Results from Glo2Facials
With Hydrafacials, although customers can leave seeing immediate results, sometimes the results aren’t always ideal.
“My skin always felt raw afterward. There was the immediate “glazed donut” look but with the Glo2Facial, I leave and my skin feels soft, clean, and completely healthy. I don’t feel raw at all,” says Brenna.
With Glo2Facials, not only are the results immediate but they are more natural and less alarming, which makes this treatment great for any day and any time, and an ideal choice for special occasions or events, as you’ll walk away from the treatment with noticeably smoother, brighter, and more radiant skin.
Reason Three: Multiple Exfoliation Techniques
While both facials incorporate exfoliation, the Glo2Facial utilizes a combination of physical and chemical exfoliants to achieve superior results.
Physical exfoliation helps to physically remove dead skin cells and debris, while chemical exfoliants penetrate deeper into the skin to dissolve impurities and unclog pores.
During a Hydrafacial some clients find the exfoliation process to be uncomfortable because the skin is already feeling raw from the dermaplane process. But with a Glo2Facial, because there isn’t a suctioning of the skin, it can be a more relaxing process.
Brenna notes that at Wanderlux, her facialist takes note of the sensitivity of her skin during the exfoliation process, “The way Reva goes over sensitive areas like my cheeks or around my eyes, is far different than the process during a Hydrafacial,” she says.
Conclusion
While both the Hydrafacial and the Glo2Facial offer valuable skincare benefits, the Glo2Facial is the clear winner for us. For those of you seeking immediate, customizable, and transformative results, we think you’ll agree.
With its versatility, effectiveness, and ability to deliver a radiant glow, it's no wonder why the Glo2Facial has become the go-to choice for skincare enthusiasts.
